To help reduce swelling, patients are often instructed to wear an elastic pressure garment continuously for up to six weeks. Your wound will be checked around 7-10 days after your surgery. The surgeon who performed your surgery will see you after 6 weeks for a follow- up assessment and as often as required until you are fully recovered. It is vital that you attend all necessary post-operative appointments. It is advisable to refrain from exercise for about three weeks and, in general, it takes about six weeks before one can return to completely normal activities.
