An injectable skin remodelling treatment designed to improve hydration, skin quality and a refreshed, natural-looking appearance.
Book ConsultationProfhilo is an injectable treatment designed to improve skin hydration and quality through the delivery of stabilised hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it is used as a skin remodelling treatment rather than primarily to add structural volume.
At Orovenza, Profhilo is considered as part of an individualised non-surgical treatment plan. Nurse Rashmi Mehta assesses your skin, concerns and overall facial structure before determining whether Profhilo is appropriate for you.
The aim is a refreshed and natural-looking result, with treatment tailored to your individual skin goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Profhilo is formulated with hyaluronic acid and is administered at specific points within the treatment area.
The treatment is intended to support improved skin hydration and quality while maintaining a natural appearance.
Your practitioner will discuss the areas that may benefit from treatment during your consultation.
Your treatment plan is determined following an individual assessment with your practitioner.
Profhilo may be considered for areas where improved hydration and skin quality are desired, subject to clinical assessment.
Your practitioner will recommend an appropriate treatment plan and session schedule based on your individual needs.
Small injection points may be visible immediately following treatment. Your practitioner will explain expected recovery and aftercare.
Improvements develop progressively. Your practitioner will explain the expected timeline during your consultation.
From consultation through to aftercare, your treatment is planned around your individual skin and treatment goals.
Nurse Rashmi Mehta will assess your skin quality, concerns and suitability for Profhilo before discussing an appropriate treatment approach.
The treatment areas and injection approach are planned according to your individual anatomy and aesthetic goals.
Profhilo is administered through a series of carefully placed injections within the selected treatment area.
You will receive aftercare guidance and information about what to expect following treatment, including when your practitioner recommends reviewing your progress.
Profhilo is an injectable skin booster made from high-concentration Hyaluronic Acid that hydrates and remodels skin from within. It suits adults noticing dryness, crepiness or early laxity on the face or neck, and is usually given as two sessions about four weeks apart.
Profhilo is a "bio-remodelling" treatment rather than a filler. Each 2 mL syringe contains 32 mg of high molecular weight and 32 mg of low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, combined into what the manufacturer calls hybrid cooperative complexes. The gel is fluid enough to spread evenly beneath the skin instead of staying in one spot.
Once in place, it draws water into the skin and is thought to stimulate the cells that produce collagen and elastin. The result is skin that looks more hydrated, feels firmer and reflects light better, without changing your facial shape.
At Orovenza, Profhilo is delivered by Nurse Rashmi Mehta, our Aesthetic Nurse, at Langham Hospital, with medical oversight from Dr Edwin Anthony, Lead Clinician at Contoura Medical. For patients whose main concern is loss of support in the lower face and jawline, we may discuss Profhilo Structura at consultation, a newer version designed to work on the deeper layers of tissue.
Most people notice skin looking more hydrated within a couple of weeks, with the fuller effect developing after the second session as collagen production responds. An open-label study in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery followed 30 women treated with two sessions four weeks apart using the BAP technique. At week 12, superficial skin hydration had increased by 21% and water loss through the skin had fallen by 21%, with no serious adverse events.
Results are not permanent because the body naturally breaks down Hyaluronic Acid over time. Many patients choose maintenance sessions every few months, and your practitioner will suggest timing based on how your skin responds rather than a fixed schedule.

The standard course is two sessions, about four weeks apart. The first session starts the hydration and remodelling process, and the second builds on it. Some patients with more advanced skin laxity benefit from a third session, which Nurse Rashmi will discuss at your review rather than booking in advance.
The effect lasts several months, although this varies with age, skin condition, lifestyle and sun exposure. Your body gradually breaks down Hyaluronic Acid, so results fade slowly rather than stopping suddenly. Many patients choose maintenance sessions to keep their skin at its best, with timing agreed at review.
Many people see brighter, better hydrated skin within one to two weeks of the first session. The more noticeable improvement in firmness and texture usually appears around four weeks after the second session. In one published study, hydration was measurably higher at week 12 than at the start.
Most patients describe a short sting at each of the ten injection points. There are only five points per side, so the treatment is quick, usually under half an hour. Numbing cream can be applied beforehand if you prefer, and any tenderness afterwards usually settles within a day.
Downtime is minimal. You will have small bumps at the injection points, which usually flatten within 24 hours, and occasionally a small bruise. Most people go back to work the same day. We suggest avoiding make-up for 12 hours and skipping exercise and alcohol until the next day.
No. Although both contain Hyaluronic Acid, filler is designed to add volume and shape in a specific area, while Profhilo spreads under the skin to improve hydration and quality. It will not plump lips or lift cheeks. If you have volume loss, facial volumising treatment may be discussed alongside or instead.
Profhilo Structura is a newer Hyaluronic Acid product from the same manufacturer, designed to act on the deeper tissue layers rather than just the skin surface. It may be considered for lower face and jawline support. We only discuss it at consultation, after assessing whether it suits your face better than standard Profhilo.
It depends on the problem. Profhilo is a strong choice for overall hydration and early laxity across the face and neck. Polynucleotides are often preferred for thin, crepey skin under the eyes. Some patients benefit from both, planned in sequence, and your practitioner will recommend what fits your skin at consultation.
The main factors are the number of areas, such as face only or face and neck, the number of syringes and sessions, and whether Profhilo Structura is part of your plan. Your practitioner confirms your personal treatment cost at consultation, and the fixed consultation fee is kept separate from the treatment price.
Yes. Profhilo is often combined with anti-wrinkle injections for expression lines, or with Morpheus8 Scale & Burst and microneedling as part of a wider skin plan. We usually space different treatments by one to two weeks so swelling settles and we can judge each result clearly. Your plan sets out the order.
Treatment fees are based on your individual treatment plan. Your practitioner will confirm the cost of your personal treatment plan at consultation. Consultation fees are fixed and are not deducted from treatment prices.
